Randeep Hooda’s first look for director Omung Kumar’s biopic, Sarbjit is finally out, and the actor is almost unrecognizable. The phenomenal actor has lost 18 kg by following a starvation diet for 28 days to look like a weak and frail man suffering in prison.
The biographical movie, which is set to release on 19th May, 2016, is based on the life of an Indian national who was convicted of terrorism and spying by a Pakistani court. Reports say that Sarabjit was a farmer who crossed the Indo-Pak border under the influence of liquor and was only mistaken for an Indian spy. He was condemned and sentenced to death in 1991, but as the sentence kept getting postponed by the Pakistan government, he lived in jail for 23 years and was later killed by his fellow inmates.
Randeep Hooda can be seen portraying the lead role of Sarabjit, while Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will be seen playing the role of Sarabjit’s sister, Dalbir Kaur. The film also stars Darshan Kumar, Richa Chaddha, Shiwani Saini, Charanpreet Singh, and Ankur Bhatia.
Director Omung Kumar, who made Mary Kom, took to his Twitter handle to share the actor’s first look from the film.
