The game that spiraled into a worldwide phenomenon has moved from your mobile and tablet screens to the big screen as a 3D animated film featuring the game’s colorful cast of characters.
The movie takes us to an island populated entirely by flightless birds who are enrolled in anger management classes to keep their tempers under control. But things about to change when the green pigs invade the island for the first time.
Produced by Sony, Columbia Pictures and Rovio Entertainment, the first trailer for “The Angry Birds Movie” boasts an all-star voice cast. The trailer for the 3D animated film centres around disgruntled and frustrated Red, who is voiced by actor-comedian Jason Sudeikis. There’s also the explosive black bird (voiced by Danny McBride) who destroys a house during a surprise party and yellow bird Chuck who borders on crazy.
Bill Hader plays the main baddie Leonard, with a plethora of other comic actors – Maya Rudolph, Kate McKinnon, Hannibal Buress, Jillian Bell, Keenan-Michael Key, Ike Barinholtz, Tony Hale and Peter Dinklage rounding out the cast.
The movie is scheduled to be released in May 2016.
