Happiness doesn’t come from fame, money or even good looks. You will be surprised to find the source of true happiness. It is as simple as it is elusive, and that’s why most people aren’t happy. Read on to find out.
Love is the greatest secret behind happiness. Nothing makes one happier than loving unconditionally, and being loved back. Everyone should have someone in their life, they love with all their heart, be it a significant other, a child, a pet or your parents. There is nothing like knowing that someone will always love you, no matter what.
Surprising though it may sound, fitness is one of those secrets to happiness no one talks about. The more you exercise, the more endorphin’s you release, and the happier you stay. Similarly, eating fresh and nutritious produce that’s free of added chemicals, keeps you healthy, fit and happy. Make the most of Nature’s gifts and try to remain as healthy as possible.
3. Doing what you love.
If you love what you do, and do what you love, nothing can stop you from being happy. Most people hate their jobs, but those who derive true happiness out of their work, are the ones who are really happy. Inside and out.
There is no one in this world who will love you and care for you as unconditionally as family does. Blood is thicker than water, and your family will always be there to welcome you back, no matter how badly you fail at life.
5. Chasing your dreams.
Not taking risks and staying put, will buy you comfort, not happiness. It will give you luxury, but not peace of mind. If you want to be truly happy, follow your dreams. They might lead you down rocky paths, but they will never lead you astray.
6. Getting older.
Crazy as that sounds, given the millions that go into keeping people young, getting older actually makes one happier. Studies show that 88% of women report a higher degree of happiness, and life satisfaction in their thirties, than they did in their twenties. When you go into the forties and fifties, the number is even higher. Growing older makes you wiser, more content and satisfied with life, and that in turn, leads to more happiness.
7. Children and pets.
There’s a saying that goes, if you’re sad, get yourself a puppy. It will lick away or your troubles. Similarly, spending some time with children, and letting go of for worries for a while, in favor of being childlike, innocent and free, is an appealing prospect. If you have a little kid, or an adorable pet in your life, whom you love, you will know how much happiness they accord. And they don’t even have to be your own!
8. A positive bent of mind.
It is said, happiness is all in the head. The happier you believe you should be, the happier you will be. It is certainly true that happiness is a state of mind, and you can be happy with the bare minimum, or unhappy, despite having everything, depending on how you view life.
