We are millennials, the entitled beings of Gen Y. We live in an age where narcissism is applauded and caring about the smallest things is seen as an accomplishment. We give importance to the wrong things and lose track of the things that really matter — ourselves. Maybe it’s time to stop this madness and stop giving a f*ck about these things.

1. The abundance of selfies you click every time you go for a party or for brunch to get approval from strangers on the internet

2. Whether someone thinks the kind of music you listen to, the movies you watch, the books you read, or the art you enjoy is cool enough

3. Keeping yourself updated on the personal lives of celebrities — who they’re dating, and who exposed their junk while vacationing on a private island

4. The opinions of people that affect the way you live you life, especially when they have no importance in your life

5. Who is making more money than you, who has the cooler job, or how much you think they’re earning yearly

6. Feeling terrible because all the people on your Facebook account who are getting engaged or married, having kids, and posting pictures with their significant others

7. Experiencing FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) when you see people posting pictures of the cool music festival or party you missed out

8. What people are going to think about the clothes you really enjoy wearing, even though they’re not designer or in season

9. How many followers you have on Twitter, Instagram or how many likes or retweets you get on your pictures or status updates

10. Being the only one in the friend circle without a significant other and feeling like the third wheel at every event you attend

12. Not being found attractive or not getting a response from someone who honestly isn’t really worth your time
