Like vinegar, baking soda is found in pretty much every kitchen. But did you know that baking soda can be used for many more things than just baking delicious cakes?

Yes, baking soda has many surprising uses you’d probably never thought about before. Read on to learn more:

1. To avoid chemical-based toothpaste but still get fresh breath and white teeth, dip your toothbrush in baking soda and brush your teeth with it.

2. Make a natural facial and body scrub yourself by making a paste of 3 parts baking soda to 1 part water and rubbing the mix gently in a circular motion to exfoliate the skin.

3. To make your skin softer and smoother, add half a cup of baking soda in your bathtub before taking a bath.

4. Make your very own deodorant by mixing three tablespoons of baking soda and a few drops of your favorite essential oil.

5. To get smooth and shiny hair, and to cleanse your hair from the residue that styling products leave behind, mix one tablespoon of baking soda with your shampoo and wash your hair with it.

6. Baking soda is very helpful in keeping bad odor at bay. So for an easy mouthwash, mix one teaspoon of baking soda and three drops of peppermint essential oil in a glass of water.

7. To treat or ease the discomfort caused by insect bites and the itchy sensation on your skin, apply a paste of baking soda and water.

8. Make your own foot spa at home by soaking your feet in a tub of warm water and dissolving three tablespoons of baking soda and a few drops of essential oil on it.

12. Ditch the Drainex. To unclog your drain or kitchen sink, use a mixture of vinegar and baking soda.

13. To remove the oil build-up in hairbrushes and combs, soak them in warm water mixed with one teaspoon of baking soda in it.
